राणा लाखा ने अपने पुत्र कुवंर चूडा का विवाह रणमल राठौड़ की बहन हंसा बाई से तय किया किन्तु स्वयं राणा लाखा  ने हंसा बाई से विवाह किया । हंसा बाई ने शर्त रखी कि अपने पुत्र को मेवाड का शासक, बनाने की शर्त रखी जो कुवंर चूडा ने मान लिया। कुवंर ने आजीवन अविवाहित रहने की भीष्म प्रतिज्ञा की इसी के कारण चूडा को राजस्थान का भीष्म पितामाह कहा जाता है। राणा लाखा के बाद हंसाबाई  का पुत्र मोकल मेवाड़ का शासक बना। मोकल की हत्या 1433 ई. में उसके चाचा ने की तथा मोकल के पुत्र कुम्भा को भी मारना चाहते थें परन्तु मारवाड़ के रणमल राठौड व मेवाड़ के राधव देव सिसोदिया ने कुम्भा को मेवाड़ का शासक बनाया।

Rana Kumbha was a scholar of music. राणा कुंभा संगीत के विद्वान था । राणा कुंभा को ” अभिन्व भत्र्ताचार्य भी कहा जाता हैं राणा कुंभा ने “संगीतराज “रसिकप्रिय” “नृत्य” “रतन कोष” व “सूढ प्रबंध” आदि ग्रन्थों की रचना की रसिका प्रिया गीत गोविन्द पर टीका है। राणा कुंभा के दरबार में प्रसिद्ध शिल्पकार मण्डन था। जिसने “रूप मण्डन” “प्रसाद मण्डन” “वास्तुमण्डन” “रूपावतार मण्डन” ग्रन्थों की रचना की। रूपावतार मण्डन (मूर्ति निर्माण प्रकरण) इसमें मूर्ति निर्माण की जानकारी मिलती है। मण्डन के भाई नाथा ने “वस्तुमंजरी” पुस्तक की रचना की मण्डन के पुत्र गोविन्द ने “उद्धार घौरिणी” “द्वार दीपिक” व कुंभा के दरबारी कवि कान्ह जी व्यास ने “एकलिंग में ग्रंथ लिखा। 1468 ई. कुंभलगढ़ दुर्ग में राणा कुंभा के पुत्र ऊदा (उदयकरण) ने अपने पिता की हत्या कर दी। उदयकरण को पितृहंता कहा जाता है।

कुंभा के पुत्र रायमल ने ऊदा को मेवाड़ से भगा दिया एवं स्वयं शासक बना। रायमल का बडा पुत्र पृथ्वीराज सिसोदिया तेज धावक था। अतः उसे उडना राजकुमार कहा जाता था। 1509 ई में रायमल का पुत्र संग्राम सिंह मेवाड का शासक बना।
