(1). London Mayor Sadiq Khan has been named the ‘Politician of the Year’ of UK for his ongoing contribution to the political life.

राजनीतिक जीवन में निरंतर योगदान के लिए लंदन के मेयर सादिक खान को ब्रिटेन का ‘पॉलिटिशियन ऑफ द ईयर’ नामित किया गया।

(2). Indian-American television personality and food expert Padma Lakshmi has been appointed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as its newest Goodwill Ambassador, supporting the agency’s fight against inequality and discrimination around the world.

भारतीय अमेरिकी टेलीविजन हस्ती एवं खाद्य विशेषज्ञ पद्मा लक्ष्मी को संयुक्त राष्ट्र विकास कार्यक्रम (यूएनडीपी) की नई ‘गुडविल एम्बेसेडर’ नियुक्त किया गया है और वह विश्वभर में असमानता एवं भेदभाव के खिलाफ एजेंसी की लड़ाई का समर्थन करेंगी।

(3). The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide a USD 26-million loan as additional financing for improving drainage infrastructure in Dibrugarh town of Assam under the ongoing Assam Urban Infrastructure Investment Program.

एशियाई विकास बैंक (एडीबी) ने असम के डिब्रूगढ़ में दूषित जल निकासी प्रणाली को दूरुस्त करने के लिए 2.6 करोड़ डॉलर का अतिरिक्त ऋण देगा। यह ऋण असम शहरी बुनियादी ढांचा निवेश कार्यक्रम के तहत दिया जायेगा ।
